They are raised pieces attached to the normal surface of the coin as a die deteriorates. This coin has VDDR-002 per VarietyVista.com, along with a die chip located precisely over George's right eye. Right braid and right lower sash also have spreading per the DDR-002. BRIGHT luster is present. I received multiple MINT rolls of this coin from the bank.
