This vintage forged iron garden fork, measuring 57" long with a 5.5" width and 6.75" depth, is a remarkable example of early American agricultural craftsmanship. Its forged iron tines retain a natural silver sheen from age and use, while the hardwood handle shows the honest wear of decades of labor. The tool has been left in its original condition, with surface patina intact, reflecting its authentic character and historic value.

This garden fork comes from the estate of a distinguished peanut farmer in Pinetops, North Carolina. Born in 1929, he served honorably in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor on the day of the Japanese attacks. Over the course of his life, he met President Ronald Reagan and pursued agricultural studies at North Carolina State University, where his contributions were recognized with a bust in his honor. This tool, once part of his working farmstead, carries with it the legacy of a life marked by service, innovation, and dedication to the land.
