I have in my possession an obviously modified, but with some parts, 1960’s dial Omega Seamaster men’s automatic watch. I would call this a retro-mod. It is a 38mm case.
I purchased it used and have no history nor facts on how this was made. I wear it often and get alot of compliments, but it does have some flaws.
The bad:
- The crown is loose on the stem so it’s hard to adjust the time currently.
- The dial and movement themselves move a little bit “too freely” from each other and could use some dial dots or similar to fix.
- The date window shifts around due to the dial being loose, but it does align well with the dial. It also is stuck which I’m assuming has to do with glue or something under the dial.
The good:
- The movement runs.
- The outside case is in good shape, and the dial itself has an amazing patina and seems to fit nicely inside.
- The watch looks amazing, with real solid gold indices and original dial.
