Refer to the photo of the bottom of the shoe, where the sole has no wear at all. They were only out of the house 2x.
The only flaw is a spot where candle wax dripped accidentally on the right side of the right boot, also shown in the last photo, but I read this can be handled with heat and some polish if wanted.
Unlined, which provides flexibility for a thicker or thinner sock in the fall VS winter.
Per the LL Bean website, "For this style, we recommend you order a full size down from your regular shoe size. For example, if you normally wear a size 9, order a size 8." For me, I think I just sized down slightly too much.
