So easy to grow. Just plant about 5" deep and 12" apart and water when soil begins to dry. Late summer they will bloom. Once you receive them they can be planted anytime. If you don't plant them right away, just keep them cool until they are planted.
Once the frost kills them you can dig up the tubers for eating. I bought 10 tubers a couple years ago and I now have hundreds - they multiply that well - so a great crop for survival gardening. They are crisp and sweet when raw and can be roasted or mashed. Do a google search on how to prepare jerusalem artichoke. As a bonus, the flowers are pretty and if planted in a row can provide a temporary growing screen.
